By playing a reading board game, students can practice and improve their reading skills in a low-stress, engaging environment while having fun.

This reading board game consists of a board with decodable words organized by phonics skills and game pieces. To play the game with two players, each player starts at the designated starting point on the board and takes turns rolling a die to move their game piece to the corresponding number of spaces. When a player lands on a space with a word, they must read the word aloud to their opponent and write it on the recording page. If the player correctly reads the word, they get to take another turn. If they are unable to read the word correctly, their opponent takes their turn. The game continues until one of the players reaches the finish space.

Playing games is a great way for students to build confidence and motivation to read, which can lead to a lifelong love of reading. By combining the fun of a board game with the important skill of reading, students can learn and practice in a way that is both enjoyable and educational.
